INDIA – E-Services Extended Further; E-Visas Can Be Used Three Times in a Year
Effective 24 September 2018, the e-FRRO system for online registration and visa-related services has-been extended to Gurugram, Faridabad, Ghaziabad and Gautam Buddha Nagar.
In-country registrations and visa extensions in these locations can be completed online rather than in person.
In April 2018, the FRROs in India, and now the government is expanding into the service provided by Foreigners Registration Offices (FROs).
E-Visas Can Be Used Three Times in a Year
An Indian electronic visa ( e-Visa ), whether for tourism, business or medical purposes, can be used up to three times in a single calendar year. Previously, the e-Visa could be used twice in a single calendar year.
An application for an e-Visa can be made up to a minimum of four days before arrival to a maximum of 120 days before arrival. The validity of an e-Visa is 60 days from the date of arrival in India. Double entry is permitted on an e-tourist visa or an e-business visa within the 60-day period. Triple entry is permitted on an e-medical visa.
